An Open Letter Song for Lilly Allen addressing Piracy

Okay most of you would be wondering why I write about piracy so much? Well the answer is really complicated and I’d address the issue at some later time. But for now, lets just enjoy this song by Dan Bull – a UK based musician, file sharer and fan of Lilly Allen.
The song is actually an open letter to Lilly Allen discussing her recent streak against File Sharers and Piracy as a whole, supporting the recent Anti-piracy efforts by various organizations. Even though the theme is serious, the song is quite amusing and I thought it would be fun to ‘share’. Jump on after the break to watch the video.
The Pirate Bay and Open BitTorrent Taken Down

It seems like the world of P2P file sharing has come to a standstill as Swedish authorities have taken down its life source – The Pirate Bay and (surprisingly) its sworn successor – Open BitTorrent.
The Swedish court ordered TBP’s main ISP to pull the plug on the service or face fines of 500,000 SEK (about $70,600), to which they complied even though the fines were no where in the league of what The Pirate Bay had to face up till now.
RIAA strikes again, a student fined $675,000 for Piracy

Copyright holders and record labels rejoice as RIAA secure there second win in less than a month. This time, the victim was a graduate student from Boston University, Joel Tenenbaum – who was pursuing a PhD in Physics. Though the amount was a little lower this time – $675,000.
Firefox crosses 1 billion downloads

It makes me proud to be a member of Spread Firefox team today. Firefox has crossed the 1 billion downloads hallmark which includes every release. The browser was the first big challenge to Internet Explorer’s rein as the most dominant browser and after about 7 years of struggle has managed to gain around 30% of the market share.
